About
What Meritus is, stated plainly
Including the parts most sites in this industry leave for the footer.
What we do
Meritus is a brand of Brown Lima LLC. We do case preparation and assessment for U.S. employment-based immigration: reading a person's record against the standard, deciding which pathway it fits, building the evidentiary file, and writing the argument that connects the two.
We are deliberately narrow. We do not do family immigration, investor visas or humanitarian cases. Everything on this site sits in one family — permanent residence through work and merit — because that is where the standards reward preparation, and preparation is the thing we are actually selling.
What we are not
Meritus is not a law firm, and its founder is not a U.S. attorney and does not describe himself as one. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and reading it creates no attorney-client relationship.
Every petition is reviewed, signed and filed by a U.S.-licensed immigration attorney, who appears on the Form G-28 as counsel of record before USCIS. You will know who that is before anything is filed in your name — not as a disclosure buried in a contract, but as a named person you can look up.
The reason to lead with this rather than hide it is that the separation is what makes the arrangement legitimate. An outfit that is vague about who signs is telling you it would rather you did not ask.
How we talk about outcomes
No result is guaranteed, by us or by anyone. Eligibility depends on evidence and on an adjudicator, and both the standards and the processing realities change. Where we have an opinion about your chances, you will get it in writing and with the reasoning attached, so you can weigh it yourself or take it to someone else.
That includes the uncomfortable direction. A free assessment that never says no is not an assessment — it is a sales call with a form in front of it.
Find out where your record stands
The assessment is free and reads your record against the standard USCIS applies. You get a written answer — including when the answer is that this is not your pathway yet.
